Romantic Film..

Goodmorning everyone!!!
How are you today?? This time, I'm going to propose you a romantic film, since this week's theme is "Romance"!!! I know that other films such as the "End of the Affair", "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Eternal Beloved" would be more appropriate choices but last night I watched almost by accident a recently released film, "Across the Universe".

It is directed by Julie Taymor, starring Evan Rachel Wood, Jim Sturgess and Joe Anderson. The story is about a guy, Jude, who is leaving England to find his father in the Columbia University. This is where he meets Max, a rich and maybe a little spoiled kid and they become friends. They live together in New York and Max drops out of college. They have this bohemian life and they cohabit with many other artists. When Jude meets Max's sister, Lucy, they fall in love right away. However, the Vietnam war comes between them, because even if Lucy wants to protest against it Jude doesn't feel that way.

I know that movie maybe it's not the most romantic film you'll ever see but I think it's amazing how it combines love, war, art and of course the Beatles' songs! It's definately worth watching to experience this 60s feeling and way of seeing things!!
