Museum Day

Hello there,

yesterday I went with a friend of mine to the National and Archaeological Museum in Athens, since I hadn't been there for a long time. There are more than 11.000 exibits varying from Prehistory to Late Antiquity. We mostly enjoyed the jewellery collections, since they reminded us of some modern designs and the sculptures which were so vivid I could have sworn that they were about to move!

The museum has also a beautiful little garden for coffee or a quick snack or even if you want to read a book amongst the antiquities in a peaceful environment.

Χθες πήγα με μια φίλη μου στο Εθνικό Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο στην Αθήνα, καθώς δεν το είχα επισκευθεί για πολύ καιρό. Υπάρχουν πάνω από 11.000 εκθέματα που εκτείνονται από την προϊστορική εποχή έως την ύστερη αρχαιότητα. Περισσότερο μας άρεσαν οι συλλογές με τα κοσμήματα, καθώς μας θύμισαν κάποια σύγχρονα σχέδια και τα αγάλματα που ήταν τόσο ζωντανά που θα ορκιζόμουν ότι ήταν έτοιμα να κινηθούν!

Το μουσείο έχει επίσης έναν όμορφο μικρό κήπο για καφέ ή ένα γρήγορο σνακ ή ακόμα και αν θες να διαβάσεις το βιβλίο σου ανάμεσα στις αρχαιότητες σε ένα ήσυχο περιβάλλον.
